I think the photo taken with the diff. light angle shows what the OP is seeing. All reflecting vertical to the left of the devices. Light and angles are everything. Glad I read this post. Very interesting/fun reading. Informative as usual also. Now, There is much true passion out there. That is a great thing to have. Never ever loose it. However (this I know) one has to be able to bend a little. Passion can fog the mind at times. Recognize the differences and use it to your advantage. Live, listen, learn then share.

Cud- You've got a good eye and have showed us some fun stuff too- the double struck cent was exciting.
In all fairness, I'm going to agree to take your word for it. I truly believe that you could have found exactly what you're describing. With that said, it brings up an important point.
What we're pursuing is COLLECTIBLE varieties and errors. If you have to use 12 pages and 100X close ups to convey and convince someone about a variety, it becomes a moot point. You may well have exactly what you say, but unless it's significant enough to identify definitively, AND portray easily enough to others, nobody is going to want it, let alone want to search for it.
You see some of us refer to being "spot cherrypickers". This means that we are looking for the major, dramatic, demonstrative varieties that are listed in well known books. We know there's lots of other stuff out there, but if it's not financially valuable, or remarkable from an educational standpoint, we pass by it, don't look.
For example- I check EVERY 95-D and 2006P, but not for the nearly impossible to see and attribute minors, for the stuff I can see, and others can see. The stuff that people will pay money for, because it's dramatic!
I'm not knocking collectors of the more minute DD persuasion, what you collect is what you love and that's all that matters. But I think you're going to be able to bring significant stuff to the forum with a little perspective, I know you've gotta search a lot, and I guarantee you, that'll pay off if done right!

Im hard of hearing and that is my advantage. My eye sight doubled to make up for my hard of hearing. I can see like a hawk and can see stuff no one else can. I personally have a list I spend extra time looking at. Everything from 2007 up I spend extra time looking at to see if something doesn't look right. Then I look for a reasonable explaination for that. I personally think you have a better chance of a rare variety from 2007 up than one already found. I also have a list of certain Die Varieties I'm looking for. Then the other coins I personally dont care to much for them unless they are in decent condition then Ill spend time looking at them also. It seems there are so many cents with vedigres on them. If there is vedigres on them I dont even bother looking.

Like I said Cud- send it to ANACS like you really want to. IF it does come back with a doubled die attribution, I'll pay for your slab fee as a celebratory gesture. I'm really, very, very sure of what ANACS will do on this one. But you can hold me to my offer, this kind of stuff makes life fun!

Im not going to hold that offer because I dont want your money. I was just sick of the arrogant replies I got for this and wanted to show whats on the coin. Edited: Another thing instead of people saying wow neat coin I got cut down and belittled.

To be blatantly honest Cud, there's a good reason for that. The other's irritation is justifiable. I will always be genuine, but at times very blunt- this is intentional to try to drive home a point. A point that you're continuing to bulldoze through in an effort to prove your (moot) point. Nobody can definitively attribute the coin- at least not by photos. I see what you're referring to, but it's SOOOOO minor, that you're going to have an uphill battle for the rest of your life with this one. Either- come up with a second example to prove that it's Die related. OR just put it down. Look at the 20,000 pennies with a reference book that I suggested. Then come back. I GUARANTEE THIS COIN WILL LOOK DIFFERENT. You'll have new, more experienced eyes. You're feeling cut down and belittled because you're insisting on pushing a 2 ton cannon up hill, that's really exhausting. For you, and for everyone watching. It's okay to have an opinion different from the popular one. DON'T insist that you're the only one who could be right. MAYBE you are. Come back and let us know after you've looked at 4 $50 bags of circulated cents and memorized your book. No sarcasm. THIS IS REAL! Lol, whatever you do, make sure you enjoy it, otherwise, it just becomes work. I haven't had to work for over 2 years now, I just play with pennies.

I don't think there's anything else left unsaid. I'm tired of this thread, so I'm going to knit it into a sweater and ship it to my great aunt Milly. See how SHE likes it this Christmas. lol

in all honesty .... I think this could be some very minor doubling.... Some pics it looks like machinedoubling , some pics worn die ...
I have seen some of the ABE FINGERS doubleddies variations with such tiny doubling listed as a doubleddie makes me wonder if this tiny doubling on the windows could be doubleddie as well.
