Thank you all! I'll probably post some new photos once it's come in the mail! And I'll keep you posted as to whether or not it slabs (and what grade if it does) :)

Nice looking coin. I agree with AU-58. I also agree with Jaobler on the old cleaning. Don't know much about PCGS I'm an NGC man myself.

I'm not a bust half guy, but I would think that it would grade at least AU-58. That would be an awesome 7070 coin!

Quote: O-111? That has my vote! Obverse: Stars 1 & 2 are closer than the other stars, Reverse: I centered under the right side of the T, the letters of STATES are all at different levels = O-111 for me.

Thanks again guys - and for pointing out the variety. What's a good site online for that? I found one for Morgans but not other coins.
Moe - Thanks! The SLQs are a couple of my favs - the toned MS-64 was one of my first bigger purchases. I'm going to upload a few more coins to my "Hello from DC" post :)

Glad to see my grading skills improving. I thoughts AU-58 when I first saw it and was confirmed by several knowledgeable forum members. Great coin! I hope it avoids getting the cleaned tag though.

Well, after having more time to look the coin over, and then confirm my concerns (the old cleaning) with a couple bust experts at the coin show, I've decided to send this one back :( As you can see from the top 2 close-up pics, there seem to be some hairlines - the cleaning was a bit more thorough than a dipping. Well, now I'm back on the look-out for a nicely toned bust half!

My advice is don't send it back unless you paid premium dollar for it. The reality is that there are very few attractive-looking bust halves that aren't cleaned. And from what I've seen, cleaning doesn't have the same hit on the value of these as it does on most other coins.

Wei - I agree that many attractive bust halves have been cleaned, however the reverse of this one has some areas that look a bit too harshly cleaned (reflective spots - where the hairlines are most noticeable). Everyone I've shown the coin to in person agrees that the coin will have a veryy low chance at slabbing. The price I paid for it would have been fine for a coin dipped awhile ago, but this was a bit too extensive.
