well. it may seem good now. I would hold on until the US decides what to do about the debt ceiling. we already passed it today. now the gov. is putting an extension until Aug.2. things are not looking good for the dollar. and we all know what that means for PM;s

I am truly astonished that we passed this critical deadline today on the debt ceiling without a resolution and it doesn't phase the markets at all. This is truly amazing times we live in.

i bought a roll of silver eagles a while back at 42$ an ounce, along with a couple of other ounces.

And yesterday I bought a gold eagle proof at 175$, and 10$ face in walking liberty's, and 10$ face in Mercury dimes.

I am fairly confident that silver will shoot back up in the next 5 years, so I'm not too worried, my profits will just be a little less.

Part of me wishes I waited, but I'm not worried, however low it goes, it will go back up at some point, I'm in no hurry to sell ATM.

If it does get close to 20$ an ounce, I will prob buy a little more, haha

I'm buying on the way down. There is a good chance that those of you waiting will be disappointed and unable to buy physical silver when the price continues to decouple from the price of paper silver.

Just like in the fourth quarter of 2008, the paper price is falling while physical silver is in record demand.

The ebay price is deceptive because of a promotion going on which takes off 10% of the final price for the buyer. In any case this means that instead of $44, they are going for $4. When the seller takes off his fees he is selling for less than $44. Additionally, we are in a falling market. We have an observation bias towards past prices on e-bay, and because of the way bids are made ahead of time there is a lag where the price of silver stays higher on ebay for a little while after the drop in silver. In a rising market, people can always bid more, but in a falling market people can't retract bids to reflect a lowered paper price.

The prices on ebay don't seem to be too far away from a normal premium over spot when the above factors are taken into account.

i was buying at 30 so if it falls below I will start buying again. I did by 20 kooks at 40 dollars but they carry a premium over the silver value.

OK, so silver is $33 an oz. Anyone seen any ASEs for sale for less than $41-42 each? I haven't. :-/

ebay is seeing a delay because people are bidding early on auctions based on the price of silver at the time the bid is placed. Silver drops in price? Too late! Your bid is already in. When I search ebay now I look at auctions closing within 24 hours or less. Most bids are up too high already.

I also see 30 day auctions that were listed based on silver prices 30 days ago. BINs and 0 bid lists of ASEs at $50+!

But can you stay in the mid 30's for another week or so? I'd like to buy up one more time before you kick it back into gear. - thank you.

Heh heh... a cheering section! I like that!

Most of the collectors on here would LOVE to see silver prices collapse... so they can buy a LOT more than they can now.

I'm not rooting for a collapse by any means, but it is nice to be able to buy in and get a little extra on the pull-backs.
Rest in Peace

I'd sell an ATM if I had it. Just a bunch of fiat money.
