Gorgeous coin!

Sending it off to be graded really depends on what you plan on doing with it. If you're going to sell it, then yes, send it off. But, if you're going to keep it in your collection, then there is really no point.

What specific factor(s)is preventing this coin from being a solid MS 65?

IMHO, there are too many light scattered marks in the obverse field and the reverse looks to have a little mark above N of ONE.

I agree with MS-64. The marks in front of Liberty's neck, chin, and nose plus the faint scuffiness next to her mouth, and the mark above N of ONE on the reverse, are enough to take it out of gem (MS-65) territory.

One valid reason to put high grade collectible coins in TPG holders is to protect them. Sure, if you carefully place it in a 2X2, Airtite, or other holder that will do as well. However, a single clumsy moment handling a nice raw coin like this can create an unfortunate scratch or ding. That risk is eliminated if the coin is slabbed.

Exactly and, come time to sell, you will do much better then it being raw. Yeah, there are the airtites which are great but, it's still a raw coin. That's been my experience.

Don't forget, his pictures are severely hilighting ANY marks on this coin. Has a definite shot at 65. NICE!

This coin is between MS-63 to 64+ depending on how it looks in hand under a magnifying glass, IMO.
