If you know of any casinos that still use quarters you should spend an hour hunting.

You mean in US casinos? I could find one in Missouri. Are you sure I can find some Canadian quarters there?

Another question, while I have the floor! Hee hee
Are the colorized coins just collector coins? They do not really circulate, right?
What about Loonies? Do they circulate extensively?
Do you ever find Silver quarters in change, or very seldom, like in the US?
Thanks for putting up with me.

I have found a few colourized coins in circulation, not a lot but some did make it out in the wild.
Loonies are used in everyday transactions.
I've only found 1 silver quarter in circulation...

Hi
My son also loves these quarters. We find a lot of the olympic quarters, not too many of the millenium, in our everyday change. We also have the coloured quarters but they are harder to find in circulation.
I love our loonies and toons, and there were a few olympic loonies as well.
Which quarters do you have so far?

Quote: Are the colorized coins just collector coins? They do not really circulate, right? The colored Men's Hockey, Women's Hockey, & Cindy Klassen coin were issued in rolls for circulation. They were mixed in with un-painted coins. Most of the color ones get picked out of change before they circulate much. And of course, these coin designs were also issued as collector coins. The paint is different on the NCLT versions.

Hi Jd I recently put together a set ( less one) of the millennium 2000 quarters for a friend.I took them from my till over a 2 week period. I also see the coloured coins on a regular basis but they are getting more scarce lately.

So, far, of the Vancouver quarteres, I have the Sledge Hockey, Pairs Skating, Bobsled and Men's Hockey. I would be very interested to put together a whole set. Of the Millenium quarters, I have only 1999 December and 2000 Pride(Fierte). I also got a 2010 Olympic Loonie, and a 2008 Quebec toonie. There are some really nice coins out there!

I bought 1992, 1999, and 2000 quarter sets from ebay for very reasonable prices. One of the sets (1999 I think?) I actually got for less than face value, minus what the seller paid for shipping. Very sweet! The others were around $5-$10 plus shipping, uncirculated.

You mean sets or individual quarters? I think I may have an Ontario and one other from circulation. On my travels to Canada I have found the Olympic ones to be common but the older ones much more scarce.
Do yourself a favor and find a set somewhere. They were the inspiration for the US line of State and Park quarters.

There are also the Support Breast Cancer quarters (pink ribbon), the red poppy, armistice and WW II remembrance (double poppy) colored quarters out there as well.
Good luck and happy hunting!
