I don't know if twist is as accurate as wring, as in wring all the $$$ out of our savings accounts.

Just an oppertunity to buy in at a lower price. A correction once in a while is a good oppertunity in my opinion.

The market moves have nothing to do with Twist really - that's just a bond swap by the federal reserve doesn't mean much and probably won't do anything positive or negative to the economy.
Rather, the drop was caused by the Fed stating that economic indicators were significantly weaker than expected. Hence, investors expect the economy to tank so they are selling Gold. That's the REALITY of Gold - if real economic weakness surfaces, investors will dump all of it. Gold is only a play if the world economy is expanding it is a disaster to hold the metal at these levels if the world economy crashed. Back to $300 an ounce... Weeeee... look out below!

I could not agree with you more A Great Opportunity in which in the coming months as "The Powers That Be" lose more and more control of the physical market will become farther and fewer between.

Sorry for not getting into all of the exact reasons for the down turn yesterday and this morning. Yes the initial reasons were Fed's statement of "economic indicators were significantly weaker than expected" Along with people understanding the whole snake eating it's own tale implications of Bernanke initiating Operation Twist. That had pretty much burned out about 2:45pm yesterday and the markets started to recover. Then the rumors of things rapidly unraveling in Greece or Italy or possibly both headed things south again. My initial post was just a Hoorah at the opportunity to head coin shop and add to the stack (BTFD) and thanking those people and policies responsible for starting the downward swing. Be careful out there, these people like to play hard ball and not let us have a ball mitt

In a world of worthless fiat currencies, gold and silver will once again reign supreme as real money.

O.K., as you all know, I am most disconnected with the news side of this world as I get most of my world info here in fact, lol. So bring me up to speed please on just what sectors of the market are in serious trouble so to speak over the last 48 hours or so....
Obviously this is just some after shock tremors being felt over on this side of the hemisphere via the mess in Europe....
Two days ago I was happy to load up on some $3.18 per gallon, which was as low as I have seen since early winter. Should I expect sub 3 dollar gas coming soon? Another-words is oil taking a beating as well?
Could this be another 2008, or the unfixed mess then coming full circle?
As we all know, Pm's got pulled down by the strong undercurrent in 2008 when the housing market imploded, are we seeing this again perhaps right now as I type this rant, lol....

Oil is definitely taking a beating. It's down about $5 a barrel last time I checked.

Well, it an the G & S can keep on taking a beating, even though I am tapped on fiat right now. I never have any available funds when the buying windows open but at least I have nearly caught up on bills form last month, even though now I need to start saving again for the next .... I do have around 64 grams of gold in 25 pieces, and around 3 grand in vintage collectibles I can sell on ebay to keep from selling any gold, esp with it diving now, as I would not even consider a sell of gold until it hits 2 grand, then I would set on the dollars an wait for another one of these drops to add more gold if I did sell.... Winter is coming and the rest/bar bus dies after the lake season passes. As much as I hate to consider it, I may need to find some other form of a 3rd winter income to stay ahead, esp if I could do it via home/computer....

Lets see. Just about all stocks are down, all commodities are down, the US dollar is down, bonds are down. The only thing I see that is up is foreign currencies today.

Well as we all know silver and gold have been on the trampoline, say like fall an catch support at 1775, and 40 and some change, and then climbing back to like 1825 and 41 and some change for some time now repeating that cycle....
Now, we see that support around 1775 and 40 collapse, as we may see sub 1700 gold before the day ends, and 35 an oz. silver, but I doubt that will happen as one would think a swing back when the Asian markets open later as mentioned in another thread....

Oil is getting hammered and gasoline ended up down ten cents per gallon. The oil VIX gained almost nine bucks.

To the Moderators, My apologies for what you deleted in the original post. Thought I disguised it enough. Won't happen again
How did everyone like watching the slow motion train wreck today?
How many took advantage and headed out to their local Precious Metals dealer to take advantage and add to the stack ?
Hope everyone had a good day. It will be Very Interesting tomorrow to see how things shake out over night in Asia.
