okie-colin Pillar of the Community United States 1083 Posts	Posted 12/30/2006 08:52 am I just bought a 1867 with Rays Shield nickel that looks like a clone of yours down to the samllest detail. The dealer claimed a VF-20 for it and I believe he was correct. This two year type will hold its value and has increased in the past year. Nice coin! Report this Post to the Staff

Steve: I have good news and bad news The bad news is that my camera doesn't have a "super macro" function and doesn't focus any closer to the coin. I don't have the equipment or the know-how to take pictures through a magnifier. So for now, this is the best picture I can get, unless through experimenting with lighting. The good news is that in hand, the horizontal lines aren't obliterated. In fact, they are 80-90% discernible. Thank all of you again for your analysis. Report this Post to the Staff
okie-colin Pillar of the Community United States 1083 Posts	Posted 01/01/2007 8:22 pm Weak horizontal lines in the shield can be seen in MS65 specimens of this issue. In fact it is so prevalent that Photograde says to disregard it. Report this Post to the Staff
