I got some good mail today. This lot didn't turn out too bad. I will post more when I get back from work. These are mostly AE3's

Nice - how many did you buy? Are they all barbarous?

If the lot was described as barbarous radiates and they mostly are AE3 with relatively intact (unchipped) edges, you may have a very good group. So many are smaller and ragged. The photo looks promising.

Hmm, interesting. In the top image there is a coin which has a crescent in a square with a dot inside. Does anyone know what type of coin this is?

Quote: In the top image there is a coin which has a crescent in a square with a dot inside I think its based on an alter type (Claudius II minted a lot) but being unofficial it may not copy any official coin sincerely. I know Arles used star in crescent in its marks but cant think of a dot in crescent atm.

most of the obv have nice portraits on them but the reverse dont have much detail most have stick men. Overall I like these coins and wont do any cleaning on them except on the 6 that are still encased in a thick layer of hard sand is what it feels like but I wont use any electricity or any hard cleaning that would change the patinas or details on them. There is 125 total coins in this lot.

That's a lot of nice coins. I've never seen this many barbaric coins in one lot before.
