I have many pennies and halfpennies sorted out and have discarded a lot of terminally ill ones. But that still leaves a lot (probably more than 1,000) of otherwise nice coins with varying degrees of verdigris.
I think Thad's "Verdi-Care" is worth a go. It can only be obtained from Wizard Coin Supplies (USA) and the killer for a purchase is the high cost of postage to Australia for a small quantity;
  • 1 bottle postage $29.83
  • 3 bottles postage $34.84
  • 5 bottles postage $35.00
  • 9 bottles postage$40.09
This is for 60ml bottles at $15.99 price each and all costs in US$.
So, it can be seen that the postage cost for a few extra bottles is very little.

Are any Australian forum members interested to try some out? A bulk order with reposting within Australia is likely to give a good overall cost saving. I estimate I could post a few bottles in Australia for $4.00 ($6.50 registered).
Please let me know if you are interested and I will further research the exact costs.

Comments also welcome.

Jeff
PS. Only Australian mention I can find is here...http://www.australian-threepence.co...tectant.html but a test with coins from mint packs doesn't seem to meet the purpose of the product (hint; how about a similar comparison with some old coppers in Australia).
Plenty of mentions in CCF and lots of very long threads with before/after photos, comments, criticisms etc.

roughly $20 a bottle for 60ml is pricey for me. I will juggle the budget and see what I can do in a fortnight, problem is I need to save big bikkies to get myself mobile again.

i did have some success with peroxide but nothing to write about. I have been wondering if heat might burn it off? any thoughts on that
