It cost in total $735 for 28 coins, silver value at $847.1, 1020.6 grams or almost 33 troy oz. of sterling silver. This is my biggest purchase ever, and will probably be for a long time.

The collection is worth around $1400 but will not get that price if I sell it today in this market. It is a great piece of Canadian and Quebecois history and I will keep it for a very long time.

All of them are BU, any marks or scratches you see are on the sealed air tight capsules, though 2 are out of the capsules and one of the coins not in a capsule has a barely noticeable scratch ($5 boxing).

I do like the Series II designs. When I visited Montreal in 1979, the Olympics were still talked about and seen in signage.

10xloupe:
I have but 2 x 10 dollar coins only. I bought them when silver was $9 per oz.
Tough call to be able to achieve what you have!

@10xloupe: Which design is your favorite out of all of them? Mine is the Rowing one - the details are quite amazing when put side by side with the rest.

Libertad: I mentioned my favorite series is the second one, and my favorite design is the Zeus one.

plcmac: Thanks, do you think the olympics were better back then or today.

Thanks for the comments. I don't think I'll ever be able to collect this decades coins, they're unoriginal. Wonder when the Canadian coins started to get so ``lame``. If you think I'm wrong then take this comparative test: Which is the better design:

These :

That is simply awful.

I never was a big fan of the '76 coins though I have a couple sets but now they look like masterpieces compared to that garbage.

10xloupe,J&M has the 28 coin holder listed here at the bottom of the page

Like Ugly,I wasn't impressed when they first came out, bought some anyways, couldn't bond with them, sold them a few years later for bullion. Now I think they're more attractive than 90% of the NCLT recently available, wish I still had 'em.
