I think Two Face on Batman used a Peace dollar to flip to make decisions, even though it was a movie it was on TNT the other night

I remeber noticing that as well when I first saw the movie (however I don't recall which coin Tommy Lee Jones had when he played Two Face)

I enjoy watching the old Dennis the Menace shows from the 60's and a few of the episodes feature Mr. Wilsons coin collection. He loses a rare dime in one episode, deals with a crooked coin "dealer" in another episode, and he misplaces a gold coin another time. It also shows him looking through his coin collection trays at various times throughout the series and in one episode he attempts to sell his collection. Always a good time...

This wasn't about coins, but it caught my attention. My kids were watching The Brady Bunch a few months ago and Mike Brady gave one of the kids a handful of change to go buy something. Based on the sound of the clink when he dropped the money into the kids' hand, it was all silver.

Hawaii Five-O had the "$100,000 Nickel" episode that aired in 1973. The plot focused on the theft/fake swap of a 1913 Liberty nickel at a major coin show. A few other major coins were shown, including a $4 Stella and a $50 Pan-Pac commem.

SyFy Channel was running a Twilight Zone marathon over the weekend and one episode was titled "The Fever", about a guy who loses his mind to a slot machine in Vegas- it featured some nice BU Morgan and Peace dollars falling into slot trays(no cheap movie props needed when the real thing could have been purchased all day long for a dollar in 1960)

I think there's an episode of the original Hawaii Five-O about one of the 1913 V nickels getting stolen at a coin exhibition.

EDIT: Haha, bio beat me to it!

It's not on TV, that I'm aware of, but a great Coin Collecting show was comissioned by the ANA they had James Earl Jones narrate it's titled "History in your hands." defintely worth getting a copy and watching.

No country for old men, a very grissly murder type movie by the cohen brothers, the guy uses as quarter to make a decision whether to kill a guy or not, and I think he doesn't kill him.

Okay, the coin is not old, but he makes out the coin is his lucky coin and is special.

That show is still being shown every day around me at 4 and 4:30 PM. Yes it is fun to watch how many times in that show Mr. Wilson picks up his rare coins with his bare hands. Lots of stories about Dennis messing up with some of those coins. One had a cop at the end using one of his rare coins in a vending machine. I never could figure out why they didn't have him have his coins in Albums or Folders. I did back then.

I remember the "Hawaii 5-0" episode very well. At least the part where the coin somehow got lost or stolen and the distraught guy went to a bar for a drink and when he paid for the drink the coin turned up in his change! (yeah, right!)

So just yesterday, I am barely watching this Western show from the 50's. An Indian reaches in and pays off a innkeeper with what seemed to be a a $50 Pan-Pac. They show it clearly, but I am not 100% sure what it was, It did have the 6 or so sides. Thats my story and IASTI.
