Went to the bank today and got 10 rolls each of quarters, dimes and nickels, and to make it an even $200, 3 rolls of halves.

All the coins were current series, but I did find a 40% silver Kennedy (1968) and five silver dimes from the early 60's. I hoard 2004 and 2005 nickels, and there were lots of those; plus I save any nickels from 1959 or earlier, and there were five from the 50's.

I also came across a 2001-P Roosevelt that looks off center to me. As soon as I get a photograph I'll post it on the Errors forum.

The quarters were a bust, but altogether I had a great time. And Tuesday I'll take $198 back to the bank, so this whole evening's entertainment was darn cheap.

I recommend browsing bank rolls.

I don't know really, Dan. I like nickels a lot, and as Ty says, it's the Lewis & Clark ones. They only made those reverses for six months each, so I decided to save every one I find.

In 150 years the release of this hoard could set the numismatic world on its ear, you never know!

Ya, I like the Lewis and Clark series too. Like the Bison one most. I see a demand for the P's out west, and here where I am it must be the same for the D's. Getting a couple fresh out of the roll is a lot better than getting those that's traveled for a while. Can't hurt to speculate by buying a couple rolls of each now at $2 a pop. I just bought 4 D's at 20 cents each, which I thought was fair considering the first dealer I approached wanted 50 cents each. If they don't do anything you can always spend them.
Rest in Peace

It's interesting, but I too hoard those nickels. And I know better!! I just like some of them, such as the Keel Boat and the OIV.

i buy pennies on a pretty regular basis, at about $20-30 bucks a pop and find about 10 wheaies everytime. I'm addicted to pennies. lately though I have turned that $30 into nickels instead and have since started a Jefferson nickel collection. just found my 1st War Nickel this way!

i call it the roll attack. I think I'm gonna start a new thread!
