This is one of my very, very few plasticated coins. Photos get a bit washed out shooting through the slab. I just love the complex design with the volcano, castle, and ship on the high seas. If ever a coin evoked a bygone time in history, this coin does it in spades!

silveryears, thanks for posting the Gothic Florin, I was wondering when it would come up. And the Frankfurt thaler is stunning!

I'll be naughty today and post two coins. They are related though, same empire, different parts. I think Franz-Josef should be acknowledged in this thread since he was a much better looking dude in the 1800's than in early 1900's.

The first coin is Hungarian,

The second one is Austrian,

I only aquired it recently... And it's already my personal favorite, for now at least

Although I still haven't taken enough time to take better pictures at daylight, but seeing it again I will do that first thing tomorrow morning (as it is night at this moment in time!) Also the coin looks better in hand then on the pics, anywayz it's in a really nice state compared to most that are being offered on the net for substantial amounts of money No way I would pay for that, and no way I did...

It also has a very strange striking appearance at the rims. See this topic for more information and pictures!

Now for the coin

#12: 10 Centimes, 1818 A - French Guyana (Minted in Paris, Louis XVIII - 2.000.000, compostion: Billon. with very nice details!)

Well, that's all I got!

Thanks for letting me show-off my coins and my bills!

I love these threads, for I get to see so many coins that I'd never run across unless these threads existed .... so "Thanks Gang!"

Nice looking Morgan Fuzzy my 1896 is nearly black.

So some of you probably knew what I was going to post for my top 19th century coin. It too is currently out to ANACS mostly for protection but I wonder what grade they will give her.

1869 proof seated half.

My favorite coins start with "179" but this is my pick for the 19th Century. I used the eagle to make my new avatar.

My choice for top place could have been any number of coins. I selected this one not because it is my absolute favorite among all the 19th. Century coins I own, although it is certainly high up in the order, but rather because it is the most expensive coin I have ever purchased. It kind of wiggles around in its 7070 hole. Forgive me for 'doubling up' but the decision was made prior to jeffrose's fantastic posting of essentially the same thing. I wonder how many other Seated dollars will appear today?

# 1, 1841 USA dollar: 'found under a bed' !
