Man, I can't wait to see what you guys have in no.1, all these key dates, old beauties and lovely worn old ladies (not ``old ladies`` as in old ladies, I mean coins )

3) 1816 token commemorate Sir Isaac Brock of Upper Canada

"is the draped liberty girl kinda hot?"

stevex6, wait till you see the fraulein I am about to post.
Everything down here is hotter than up there. And it's getting worse. Why, the amount of hot air this election season is already causing its own mini global warming. My backyard crocuses were blooming in JANUARY.

muddler, your kind words a couple pages back should be spread around a bit. I am seeing some top tier coins here.
Sorry I have not been doing my duty to the thread. Have been under a lot of stress with limited time for taking photos of coins. I will endeavor to catch up... woah! up to # 3 already

I love the big Brazilian countermarked coins, but this one is rather special (in my opinion)... Usually they made countermarks on these coins, as displayed in the last picture! So for example 80 Reis would get a new counterstamp of 40 Reis.

But they choose not to countermark it, but to destroy it for some reason I'm not 100% certain, but pretty shure this is the case.. At least it has been done a very long time ago, seeing the patina in the "shaft" of the clipping! The host-date is also strangely worn, don't know if this would be due to honest wear... Or some other reason

Enough talking here is the coin

#11: 80 Reis, 1832R - Brazil (Officially Destroyed / Clipped)

I have a few of those overstrikes. But none with a crossbar like that. They are enormous hunks of copper.

Neither my # 6 nor # 5 coin is remarkable for scarcity or condition. Both are beautiful in high grade, less so comely in well worn grade. These two are special: they were rescued from melt tubs not long ago at around spot silver price.

With a nod to the Northerners here is another Victoria, a flawed but lovely very dark-toned coin; an ebay find.
# 4, Newfoundland 50 cents 1870:

# 3, Free City of Frankfurt, Germany, 2 thaler, 1861:

This is a massive silver coin, 41 mm wide and 3 mm thick.
No one makes coins like the Europeans.

Fuzzy, it's nice to see her again!

This coin is currently with ANACS as the series tends to have many fakes out there. I'm positive it is genuine but has obviously been cleaned and I'm hoping for AU to MS details grading.

The identifying die cracks on the reverse below America lead me to believing the authenticity of this rarity.
