I see on the Mints product web site that on 3/13 they will release a 2012 Birth Set. Does any one Know what this set will consist of?

Interesting. Maybe it is some sort of special packaging with a place for a photo?

I will join in the wait for an answer.

Looks Like the Mint gave me my answer

Doesn't look like anything I would be interested in

Thought maybe a Silver eagle or something

Yeah not something I'd buy for my collection but would make for a good "congratulations on the birth of your child" gift.

Kind of silly. Anyone could just order a Proof set and/or a Uncirculated set, add a photo of the kid to the package and POOF, you have a Birth Set.

Uggh. They couldn't even include either the Sacagawea or a Presidential dollar. Sad rip-off of the RCM product.
Rest in Peace

Amazing how common sense is becoming uncommon.
Welcome to the U.S. Mint IMHO

It's a lower price point than a mint or proof set - $19.95. That's under the $20 marker you might use when getting a gift for a co-worker who's having a kid. It's also all baby-themed, so it'll more easily slip under the radar of a non-numismatic person who might be skeptical of a collector-oriented set.

In other words, we're not the target audience.
