With the plunge in silver this morning went to my local shop
Picked up 4 rolls of quarters 1963 1964 1965 1966
And 3 rolls of dimes 1959 1960'and 1966

Now all these rolls are in there original bank rolls
Question is would you open or let them sit

To me there is no value lost in opening rolls... money can only be gained by finding something cool or spliting up the lot to sell seperatly. This is assuming that you got a good price.

I would open them and check them out. No premium lost, plus you might find some nice coins.

OK I don't get why you wouldn't open them up.... I mean if they are all still in there original packaging that makes them ALL at least MS-60 most if not all will be MS-62/63 even a few MS-64. Then this brings me to another question why would ppl sell mint rolls so cheep? shouldn't they demand some kind of premium? For example each quarter roll has a MS value of about $280-$320 book value? please correct me if I'm wrong here..

last question: where the heck do you get your rolls for under spot O.o?

Well I opened them, nothing to special a few gems. The rest went into some tubes to add to the silver hoard.

skwca, I do alot of business $3000+ a month in bullion purchases so they give me a great rate, plus I always pay cash which gives me a bit of a discount too
