First, my main constraint...nobody will find me voluntarily on either side of a camera, ever. It's just highly objectionable to me (and would be to you too if you saw a picture of me), plus I don't own a camera. So I have to ask for a favor when I need a picture. What should I tell the person helping me out how to improve these images? In hand, there is no discoloration near the dates, so I suspect lighting is one issue. Anything else? Any value estimates with these images v. improved ones? Thanks.

I would have the small date in an airtite capsule. I would try taking a picture of 1 coin at a time at a higher megapixel setting, re-size it to be within upload limits and crop it before uploading. But then, you take as good as or even better images than I do. Pretty good otherwise.

I quite agree with half of that statement.

Aside Nickel Guy's astute advice, I'd add that the coins will be better-shot entirely outside any container.
