Hey just want to bump this thread rather than start a new one, can someone just say whether the wooden box in the OP is acceptable or not? I'm concerned about outgassing.

@donkrx: It is near impossible to say whether the cabinet shown by the OP is "safe" or not for long-term storage. The reason? The OP doesn't state what type of wood was used to build the cabinet.
Mahogany has been used since the 1800s to build coin cabinets and is safe to store coin collections. However, woods such as pine or oak or cherry should not be used in cabinets as the gasses they emit over time can harm coins. I've seen a number of wood cabinets advertised as having a "mahogany finish" which I take to mean some other type of wood has been given the look of mahogany via staining (the dyes in which can also damage coins). I wouldn't store my coins in these types of cabinets.
If your coins are in sealed "air tight" slabs from a grading service, the type of wood used for the cabinet can be less of an issue, but the potential for problems after long-term storage in a cabinet constructed of the "bad" woods mentioned above still exists.
My bottom-line suggestion is that if you want to store your collection in a wooden cabinet, invest in one made of mahogany and don't buy a cheap cabinet made of woods that can cause problems. Mahogany cabinets aren't cheap but they're time tested.
Hope that helps!

Where to buy coin easels at GTA? Not interested in buying on ebay and paying high shipping fee. Thanks

@Bibo: I don't think you'll find one available in the GTA. A couple of dealers in the GTA mentioned that they can't find suppliers for themselves let alone sell them, so I assume that there are no local suppliers for these things

The artist in me says "beautiful." The New England Yankee says "Dansco."

I came across this thread at 2:00 in the am CST. Fighting my bout with diabetes, with the lack of sleep. But I would like to say how truly beautiful these silver rounds can come off if properly display. Bravo, Coin Chick and Poboxw! Your displays are just out right breath taking.

Thanks to all for your concern. May I say that I am so jealous of you people from Canada. You have what I believe to be the finest mint running today. Producing some of the finest commemoratives and bullion offerings around, bar none. If at all possible I would like the people of Minnesota to ceded from the United States and join Canada if that was possible. Just to make it easier to obtain some of what you people north of me are enjoying.
