I'm sure they want to build up some demand so that they can sell enough of the new one right away and recover their design cost. Also, if they continued producing the current one, they run the risk of having unsellable stock when the new one is released.
My dealer tells me it should be out in September. Being impatient, I bought a used one from him for $5. Someone wrote a P in ink next to all the modern coins! Apparently they didn't understand the type concept.

In my opinion, the Dansco Co. is the least communicative, let alone hard to get a hold of. I think they have one guy running the whole manufacturing operation.

Well, I found a US Type Set - Large Denominations Whitman folder from the 50s. I don't think I'll be able to afford anything past Seated Liberty, which is good, because it's just a folder. But it is a nice place for my Morgan and a couple halves - on the other hand, there's no hole for the Kennedy half, and the only way to fit an Eisenhower in it is to co-opt the Trade dollar slot.

A bit of miscommunication. I believe that bpoc1 was quoting OldSkoolMadSkilz's post on 07/20/2012, which makes the alleged release almost a year past due.

Urgh... Dansco is making things so hard.. Quote: I do wonder if they change the 7070 album so much that collectors will not like it .. will the older (current) albums be the one everybody wants? I doubt it ...

I just spoke to Dansco Release of the 7070 is slated for "sometime in 2014" when I pressed for even a more specific time frame like "closer to Q1 or closer to Q4?" the lady just said, "sir, I cannot help you with that"
she did emphasize that she gets called constantly and they are "working very hard to get it done"
