Looking through some pennies and other coins...

What do you do with older pennies (1940-1960). I have duplicates for some reason...

throw them in my "copper" jar? (pre-1982 pennies)
or sell 'em? and who would want them?

same for dollar coins, I picked up 10 1976 Ikes today at a liquor store.. ( was getting a sandwich next door). I'll keep one or two, but just throw the rest back in circulation?

Search for "coin roll" on ebay, virtually anything can be sold above face as long as you have a roll of the same thing.

Saved up a few dollars and bought 2 boxes of 100 count coin tubes for the descent finds.

Added some cardboard to the bottom of the original box they came in and taped it up really good to support the tubes filled up.

I keep a limited amount of junk cooper in spaghetti sauce/glass jars but have a $$ limit that I keep for junk. And even with junk, once I go over that dollar amount I dump it. I can easily find a replacement for the dumped coins by roll hunting.

Easy example, one of my spaghetti jars can hold about $10 in pennies easy. I go roll hunting and find another $10 in descent coins I'm going to toss that junk jar by either trying to sell it or just toss it. It just goes to the principle that I can't keep everything, its not practical and it doesn't make business sense.

Junk is junk and people are not likely going to pay a premium for junk down the road. Its easy to find replacement for junk copper anyway.

If my coins are going to take up space then I want them to be in good shape. Also, coins are nice but there are other assets that pay interest and are more liquid than coins. better to have those coins in those assets than sitting in a jar or bucket in the house not doing anything.

Save the copper cents and throw the zinc cents back into circulation.

As I was pulling all the copper out of the penny rolls (and the wheats I was finding) I put all the zinc pennies back into rolls and saved them for a rainy day, which by the way did come a few months ago. Had about $25 in zinc and dumped them at a different branch of my bank.

1. Put all duplicates in those Santa Buckets around town.
2. Send to some organization that is trying to help with the Philipine problems.
3. Send all duplicates to me.
4. Give to the Salvation Army
5. Give to Goodwill
6. Send to me.
7. Give to kids on Holloween instead of candy..
8. Have a giveaway right here.
9. Send to me.

A long time ago I too accumulated duplicates. I simply started a second set of the same coins. As more duplicates accumulated, I simply started a third, then fourth, etc. Presently I have well over 100 Albums and many are duplicated ones.
