You have a bit too much glare on the coin for an accurate grade, also loos like it may have been cleaned, but it does look VF

Possibly cleaned certainly F15 or VF 20 need a better pic. Step up and find a 1919 C and you will have a complete set!!

Appears to be VF, $7-$10
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I actually have 3 or 4 1917s haha. I will retake the pictures again try and get a bit less glare

You can also compare your coin against the pictures shown here http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-grading.php . It only shows Canadian coins but the obverses are similar. Also it's not complete so for some dates/grades you have to interpolate. Then you can look it up in the price guide here http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ces-nfld.php . The coin is sterling silver with an ASW of 0.1734 troy oz giving it a spot silver value of about $5.82.

Thanks for the guide... this one lamost looks like the example they have listed as EF-40 at least to me...
