Barber Half Series Question

I'm looking at a 1900 date set all "s" mints except the indian head. All the coins are in XF including the barber half which may would hit AU 50. The guy wanted $200 for it....which I was about to jump on, then I examined the half under a loupe and saw lines on the obverse and reverse.....did not look like cleaning lines.....however I was not convinced that they were polishing lines from the mint either.....My question, how prominant can polishing lines be on Barber halves.....to be honest it almost looked like wire brush lines....but not as bad....and I know you guys can't give an opinion on the condition of the coin without pictures. My question that you may be able to answer is how prominant are polishing lines in this series.....I know some Peace dollars are eaten up with polishing lines.....is that the case with some Barber halves as well?
