When I first bought this 5K hoard, the coins were separated by date in little envelopes. After taking out some dates I needed, I dumped all the coins into one large tin before I started searching the masses. The older coins went in first. Now that I'm going through the older coins I am finding a lot more of the Woody's. I have about 2000 LWC left to go through and the last 500 have yielded about 7. Since I started I have found about 16. I'm sure there will be more to come.

My question is, are these as common as I have been finding them or am I just lucky with this batch? Are Woody's ever associated with LMC's?

It appears Woody's come in various stages of grain appearance. I have been finding numerous LWC's with a mild Woody appearance, a heavily worn Woody, A Woody with lots of Verdigris or the remains of what could have been a nice Woody. I'm keeping only the nicer looking coins. Here are 3 more. I'll show more soon.

I really like the look of the 1924. Nice going with the hoard!

Here is a thread I had done on wood grains. I do have LMC and LWC pictured with the effect... They are gorgeous.
