Would like to know if my 1966 Canadian Dollar is a small bead or large bead and the value, either way.

looks like a large beads. SM are VEEEERY rare. They were originally intended for BU (proof-like) sets, however, they were rejected an shipped back to the mint for melting. They did not make it, and ended up being shipped to a branch. Therefore the 1966 dollars should have an SP-MS appearance.

Compare your coin to the pictures shown here http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ar-1953-1986 The easiest indicator is whether the I of REGINA points to a bead or between the beads. A bit hard to tell in your picture but it looks like between to me. Therefore Large Beads. I vaguely remember that there are only supposed to be about 500 of the Small Beads that were accidently released in 2 sacks sent to a local bank branch or post office but I could be mixing up my legends.

p.s. Worth about $18-$20 CDN these days. Spot silver plus a couple of bucks.
