Quote: Oh, he did at that. He made the buy it now $400. That's a sign of desperation. I bet his wife is forcing him to sell it.
Dooby- I'm betting you were shut out of buying these and are now a Negative Nellie, because you don't have any. I've never seen anyone so negative on something that has been a winner. It's obvious you don't have any.

It is ok, some people deserve a belief :) Quote: Oh, btw I have 1,500 of these rolls. Quote: Anyone can say whatever they want btw, I have only 1.000 of them, but bought them for the face value :)

That's not a bad idea, Solidifier, but how do we know that the pennies are from that roll? They could be from any non-magnetic roll. That requires a great deal of trust. Similar to the Gatewest auction. How do we know the seller didn't take a razor blade & opened the box, checked/switched any interesting serial #'s and re-packaged the box and re-attached the label? What if the box is missing a roll or has damaged rolls? Who's fault is it? The seller's or Gatewest? This opens the door to a buyer claiming the box arrived empty! 'Nuff said.
Too risky and controversial!

Are you Dooby's brother? Closed box sales of coins are done tens of thousands of times on US items from dealers. There were the first 5 ounce coins that had no mint mark that you could only get from dealers, not the mint. Thousands of those boxes contained 5 coins. They sold for $1,000 to 3,000.

I have two rolls, that's all I need and I'm selling them as soon as I get them to finance other coins. Quote: now this is how you make money....that works out to 100 bucks a roll That's a good idea but this guy sold 11 for $2 and is now selling more for $3.49. These aren't even special wrapper pennies, just regular pennies. $174 a roll! http://www.ebay.com/itm/25124000197....m1555.l2649

I love unopened box sales. You can put anything in there and you know the seller will never open it or they will loose money. I don't think I've ever been stupid enough not to open a box and check the contents. As for and ebay claim, the seller always looses. You could open those boxes and take out a roll and make a claim the item was not as described. Regardless of what proof the sell had that the coins where in the box, ebay only requires the package be sent back with tracking and the buyer gets a couple free rolls and refund.

Doobi you are a little too paranoid. Most people are honest. Relax a little.

What proportion of the public would you say is dishonest? 1 in 10 1 in 100 1 in 1,000 Ask most of the people who sell on ebay to ship something without a tracking number. Won't happen. Ask a lot of the US sellers to ship to Canada. Won't happen. I can hardly find someone in the US to ship me coins. I have ships to a US address and then transship. So am I really paranoid or are you uninformed? If you leave yourself open to attack you make yourself a target. Getting far to serious now. I'm just saying be careful and about 1 in 80 of my transactions are fraudulent or go bad resulting in a loss. I don't ship anything over $20 without tracking.

That's great that you can take a risk on unopened boxes, Dooby. I kind of prefer to see what I'm buying. In hand is ideal but good pics with various angles helps. Guess I'm a bit fussy; wouldn't hurt to take more risks; but I've been burned on ebay a few too many times, I guess... With the Mint & CP, returns are easy. With ebay, not so easy & costly if you have to pay the ship.
