cheezyfryes Valued Member United States 359 Posts	Posted 03/05/2013 10:06 pm So, I just (and I do mean just, as in the last couple of weeks!) came to appreciate the beauty and plain ol' coolness factor of US currency. I've focused on coins so much that I all but neglected the great artwork and design that lives on their sister monetary material. Credit for this new interest goes almost solely to Woodford (Justin) here on the CCF! I don't know if he's trying to lure me away from the dark side or what, but he was very generous in helping my daughter and I step into this part of the collecting universe. I had some old bills stored around my house, and with the specimens we received from Justin, we now have a nice little collection started. I promised Justin I'd post pictures of our humble collection thus far. I'll put them up as separate replies to this topic. I admit that I know next to nothing about the history of these bills...yet! I have lots of research to do. All I know is that now my daughter and I are on a quest to get a large format $1! Justin, you rock, sir! Report this Post to the Staff

Can't have people knowing that my secret agenda here involves luring the coin collectors into currency. I'm glad you like the $10 gold cert. those are amazing notes and a crucial part in any advanced small size note collection. I am working on getting the $50 and $100 gold cert. hopefully during April to complete my set (minus high denom. G.C.s). Steve, you should aim for the 1923 $1 Silver Cert. or a 1902 National note from Cedar Rapids (although these are a few hundred) or somewhere from Iowa as your first large size $1. I'm half through completing my.$1 series set. And 2 notes away from finishing my type.set. gold cert being one of them. Its been quite the joyride getting this far.
