I couldn't leave well enough alone, so here are some of my favorite UNSEARCHED ends found on
ebay. You'd be amazed what gets rolled up in these things!
1.
Barber dime in a Wheat roll

Wow, and all that vintage action in a new-style cardboard roll. You'd think the roller would notice that they were accidentally dropping one of their junk
Barber dimes into the end of a wheat roll, but I bet once it was all rolled up the
ebay Honour System prevented them from removing the offending dime and instead forced them to sell it as an unsearched roll.
2.
Seated Liberty dime and
Indian Head cent in a Wheat roll

Not just one but two valuable coins on the ends of this roll. Sure, you would have to see every coin in the roll to close the roll, and nobody would fail to notice that they accidentally put a holed dime in one end, but still. Just think of all the
other rare finds in that roll! The odds are with us! I can't get enough of these
DOUBLE ender rolls that are being sold as "unsearched". There's not a single angle you could view these by without noticing the different coins in each end. And how do you know what's inside without searching it, since both ends are sealed and you have to open it by the middle?! What a mystery!
3. Colonial Thing in a Wheat roll

I don't know what this is but it's probably worth a lot. I feel bad for the poor owner who must have accidentally lost it in a roll.
4. Gold-plated V-cent in a Buffalo roll

Apparently gold-plating worn nickels was a common practice in the days of yore, because this guy has a store full of rolls that were each lucky enough to get one in the end. I wonder how he found five different rolls, each with an identical gold-plated buffalo in the end? Probably some wacky estate sale. Yeah, that's it.
