This is my most recent purchase which I received from SPP-Ottawa (on the formus). Its a complete nickel dollar set (Minus 2 of the 1974's) all graded MS-64 (Minus 1985 which is MS-63 and one 1974 which is MS-60). I'm very happy with this purchase and look forward to collecting the silver dollars :).

nickel dollars are much under appreciated! Try tipping a server with one, or giving one to a kid these days...much cooler than a loonie.

You are very welcome. Glad to see they arrived safely.

There is a guarantee with those MS-64 grades. if you disagree with any of the grades, let me know. In fact, I bet there are at least four coins in that set that ICCS would grade as MS-65. I will keep looking for a 1985 MS-64 for you. That is an incredibly tough year, I sold my spare 1985 MS-65 to Canadian Beaver Hunter at Coin Expo...

Very nice set. Congrats! One day I will get a set of the nickel dollars and Half dollars. So hard to find any at any of the banks in my area.

A bit of background on the set that qbvbsite purchased from me:

In March, I acquired a very large inventory of nickel dollars from a coin dealer in eastern Canada, almost $8000 of face value of nickel dollars. I went through them all; picking the rare gem grades (MS-66) as potential upgrades for my collection, choice grades (MS-65) for ICCS certification, and errors and important varieties. I did set aside all the eye-appealing MS-64 coins (roughly 10-20 coins per year) and the rest of the coins (about 7500+) went to my bank, which ships directly to the mint as part of the Alloy Recovery Program.

The set I sold qbvbsite was truly a 'premium hand selected' set (to steal that phrase from the RCM), as I believe nobody, not PCGS, ICCS or CCCS, has seen and graded as many nickel dollars as I have. I am considering putting a couple more sets together of premium hand selected MS-64 grades, some date sets with and without varieties - for CCF collectors at an extremely good price, if I know the demand is there... I would list a few sets in the CCF auctions. Obviously, qbvbsite got the best variety set, except for the handful of 1974 VCR varieties.

I probably will consign a date set of ICCS MS-65 coins to a future Bell auction at Coin Expo (except for 1985 - what a darn tough year to find!!).

Lastly, perhaps CCF (admin) would like a lower grade set, in a Whitman folder, as a prize for kids at their booth at the Chicago show? Let me know...

Mike, I have not forgotten about your set. Want them in a Whitman folder or carded in 2x2s?
