For me, it's always been the 1909-s vdb. As a kid, it was the only one I didn't have in my Lincoln Cent collection, couldn't afford it no matter how much I saved. Ironically, now that I have the money I shy away for a different reason, mainly that there are just TONS of them on ebay and stuff, it's almost too easy to obtain if you have money...and on top of that, the price on it never really goes anywhere, it's not that much expensive than it was 25 years ago when I was trying to buy it. So that's my coin that I want but was never able to get as a kid, and still want today but don't want to buy it because relative to almost any other coin(s) I could buy it's kind of a bad investment of that much money.

1893-S Morgan in XF condition or an 1895 Morgan in horrible condition, which would still be out of my reach.

mine would have to be a 1796 quarter.it would have to be very low grade-something like ag-repaired or worse- and i'd have to go quick to selling some others to balance the books but so far I've been un successful biddin on one an I got a feelin the high bidders are probably prepared to give much more than they end up getting them for...sigh

On my current hit list is a MS+ Flying Eagle, 1807 over 6 large cent vf -xf, 1812 large cent vf -xf, and a 1795 lettered edge large cent around fine. Cool thread!

Since I mainly collect quarters, the one I am after is a 1796 Draped Bust. It would have to be a low grade example, but for me that is the king of quarters

I've been working of the Feuchtwanger Three Cent pieces, putting together a pedigreed set. The best struck Low 118 was owned by JJ Ford and resides in an NGC MS61 holder. I want it!

Very near the completion of my Lincoln Cent set. Have all (don't/won't collect the 22 Plain - it is an error coin) of the keys in high grade (MS63). Need a couple upgrades though. Have been slowly picking up UNC Mercury dimes, Buffalo nickels, Washington quarters, and Standing Libery Quarters. The Buffs and SLQ's are an exceptionally hard pair of series to collect. Truly several series within a series, because of die quality. Anything in AU Bust coinage is nothing short of beautiful, but only with original skin - which, in itself, is a near rarity as well.

My type set is missing a Draped Bust quarter so I'm on the lookout for a nice one in EF to AU grade. Hopefully I can find a suitable 1806/5, certified by PCGS.

I'm looking for any 18th century coin. My oldest right now is 1837 so I really want a 1700's coin.
