I recently bought a 1889CC,should be in next week, which will just leave me 3 to finish my Morgan "CC" set.
Low grade with nothing special
Anyway this gave me the itch to revue all my other "CC".
While doing this is when I discovered this.It was bought as a regular "CC" about 7yrs ago.Still have receipt.
I do not actively seek VAMs but do own the encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace dollars so I researched it
and believe it to be a VAM3 capped die,but thought I would get some other opinions. There is doubling at top of "1" and"8".
Couldn't get a good shot of it.
To answer the most obvious question,if I am buying from a dealer I trust, have coin in hand, low grade and coin appeals to me
I will buy coin without using a loop to examine it.Especially a coin this size.If we agree somewhat on the grade and it is $100 or less.

Were you looking for a grade or VAM?
I'm a little confused.

Mostly for the VAM.But looking for a second opinion on both. That's why I posted "?" by both.
I think it will go a VG8/10 but that is one man's opinion and was looking for input from people
who know Morgans better than I do.
Sorry for the confusion.
I also just noticed this probably belongs in the sub forum
for VAMs.MY bad.

I moved it for you :-)

I'm looking at VG8. Can't help with the VAM #.

It looks like a LDS VAM3 to me. Nice variety!

VAM-3A, designated in 2012. You've a rather pricey little coin there; these bring a strong premium.

I believe you are correct with the VAM3A. I was going off not seeing the die gouges between the A and M and off the eagles' left wing. Had I read a little further, The fully filled G would have nailed it.

That'd be a really nice one to see in Mint state!
