Hi, I was going through my collection and noticed what looked like clashing on both sides of this Morgan, also the date looks doubled and there's a faint notch under the second 8. Is this a VAM 4?

Yeah, I like VAM-4 for this one, possibly 4A if it's got letter clashes.
Rest in Peace

1883 CC is one of those date/mm that all look about the same to me, but I'm tempted to call this VAM8A based on the mint mark position.

You know, Dave, I think you might be right based on the date die cracks. I pretty much based my opinion on the "spike" doubling of the 1, and put the MM location down to photographic angle.

Edit to add: I hate 1883-CC. Nice clear images almost everywhere, and you still blow attributions.
