This is just a guess by me but it looks like it was either underground for a while (I metal detect and have found lots of Cents) or it was dipped in a corrosive liquid. Like I said...I'm not positive just my best guestimation :)

I would wrap up all the pennies I found Metal detecting and bring them to the bank. I'm sure someone else will chime in.
