Hello! I found this website trying to figure out what is wrong with my dime. I just thought it looked weird and have not seen anything like it before. I took some picture to show you guys! I have no idea about coins, so please excuse my terminology. The dime has a lopsided rim (which could have been caused through circulation.) The most prominent marking it a raised blob, ON BOTH SIDES! I just thought it was super interesting. If you know what this is, please let me know. Oh, & it is not a bubble caused by heat, there are no burn indications. (Shiny like a regular dime) Mahalo, thank you!

It looks like the area expanded after the coin was struck. It could have been heated by an indirect heating source. If the "blobs" had been present at striking I think it would look different.
Only my opinion.

with don about it looking different if that happened during the minting process.

EDIT: Heat damage was also the first thing that came to mind for me as well. But that is just a guess.

This looks like a cast coin? Is there copper in the center on the edge? The other thing that causes this is heat as mention. It looks really worked over. If it is a real coin, it didn't leave the mint that way.

I was also thinking this because of the porous surface, but why the heck would someone take the time?

Put it on ebay as a "rare FDR with goiter" dime.
