Can't Read The Date On Japan 5 Yen - Can You ?

Pertinax Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2135 Posts	Posted 09/14/2013 6:05 pm I'm not normally puzzled by Japanese coins but possibly I've lost the appropriate brain cells. I can't read the date on this 5 yen, none of them seem to be any of the numbers listed in KM. Which characters should I be looking at and what's the date, please ? Report this Post to the Staff

inscriptor New Member Russian Federation 14 Posts	Posted 09/15/2013 10:10 am I've just described the above-mentioned rule in the English version (in my native language it's been there since 2010). I failed to understand the meaning of "the å.ƒ looks very like the å.ƒ that the date converter shows as 1,000.", because the converter actually represents symbols for 1..9; 10; 100. I mean up there there's no "1000"-symbol, though it exists ("åƒ" simplified version, "ä»Ÿ" for traditional). Edited by inscriptor 09/15/2013 10:12 am Report this Post to the Staff
