Very well - to restart it off in the correct decade, I offer the one coin that means the most to me. Not the highest grade, but certainly the one most endearing to me -

Here's another... the more elusive "Large Stars Reverse" variety:

The-15-Days-Of-US-Gold!-1790-S-1930-S

Interestingly, the 1799 Half Eagle has an estimated average of only 200-250 total survivors, per Bass & Dannreuther. Its big sister, the 1799 Eagle has an estimated 750-1000 survivors, yet the Eagle commands a rather significant premium over the Half Eagle until they get into the mid-upper MS grades, where prices tend to even up. I can only guess this is because of the relative availability of early Half Eagles as a whole, compared to early Eagles, as there are more dates with healthy mintages and therefore, more available early HE survivors, than early Eagles.

Keep this thread going! I said it before, the Barber thread has been going for more than a year, no reason why this one cannot do the same.
