A reply from the main dealer who I buy from ardrew crellin and trevor wilkin well we have gone no were today no one know to much about this one and I have great fears contacting npa Shane,
Good to hear from you. Looks to be some kind of polymer promotional test note, prepared by NPA to show off their technology to potential clients.
I haven't seen one before, it has to be worth something but like a lot of these things, who knows how much eh?
We've finally gotten some rain over the past few days, first in the past 6 months....
NPA would be the people to contact to find out more about it.
All the best,
---- Andrew Crellin
trevor wilkin reply
I know nothing about the promotion.
It is not banknote as such but A Reserve Bank advertising note which was a reasonalbe market value

Shanew,
Didn't you like my answer? I have what is the most recent experience with these sorts of notes and found records of previous sales. They didn't sell for that much and they are not uncommon. I did a lot of research on them know more about them than either of the dealers you questioned. There were SEVERAL DOZEN in the lot I had a chance to buy from, so THEY ARE NOT RARE.
I understand that you constantly want to think that you've found something unique and every time you post here it's always fun to see what you've come up with now. But if you ask a question and get an answer and it's not the answer you want then what's the point of keeping asking people until you do get the answer you want? It doesn't change what that note is. It's a printing sample, it was handed out to potential clients of NPA. Perhaps not as common as a promotional cup or a pen but they are around. And they are probably mostly overseas where NPA was chasing most of it's business in the 1990's. It might be worth a couple of hundred so you and your children and your children's children are not going to be able to retire on it.

Quote: I had the opportunity to purchase several of these a few months ago (and passed it up) for about $100 or so each. I did some research then. They are samples that were printed by NPA and handed out to potential customers or as freebies (like handing out a coffee cup or a pen). There doesn't appear to be any publicly available information as to the print run and there are a few different types. There was a thread on these "notes" a year or 2 back,I'm not sure where I come across it but I just did a Google and it didn't show, may have been the ebay discussion boards or the ABC Collectors/Auction Forum, anyway the end result was that some connected people have hundreds of the bloody things and every so often a couple pop up for sale.
