@Numisma Quote:If you mean CUs, not CIs, I use one for my savings account. Maybe I could try them. Who knows- maybe I could open up a bag and find a double denomination of an 1870-CC Double Eagle struck on a Seated dollar! CIs equals Custodial Institutes This is part of the weird (good stuff) found in $1,000 FEDERAL RESERVE BAGs. When I could get them (at face) those were the best of times. Still working on it. Never give up the hunt

Thank you. What exactly is a Custodial Institute?

It's actually custodial inventory. This is where some banks hold currency on behalf of the FED. You are thinking of a 'coin terminal', where some armored carriers hold and distribute an inventory of coin on behalf of the FED.

Quote: Do the feds ikes have silver dollars in them too? At the risk of posting the same PICs, I found theses and others in $1,000 IKE bags. From my poor memory 5 of these came in my second bag. Hog heaven city. Maybe another ASE and another Peace came in the third (or fourth) bag to round out the 7 coins showing. I was shut down after 7 bags I am fairly sure this bag was number 2. Full of holes. My advise is when (if) you ever get a shot at a $1,000 bag, do not sweat the holes.

@ CLS 12 Quote: How many bags did it take to produce those? I was only able to get seven $1,000 FED Bags. The coins shown (from my poor memory) were in the first few bags. I keep the AG stuff show, but I do sell a few IKEs. Best sale in IKEs so far, is one peg leg.

Jbuck Quote: Positive attitude or wishful thinking? A little of both, along with some of my past good results Keep in mind that there are other coins in the bag worth about the same as a cull Morgan, or cull Peace dollar. I did sell one PEGLEG for $32.90 Only from my poor memory it was a 1972 (P) Type (1) Condition about AU Believe that IKE came in my 5th or 6th bag
