Today I went to the grocery store. There is a Coinstar there. I went to check and this man was scratching lottery tickets on the machine. But if you don't try, you don't succed. So I walked up and pulled 3 dimes out of the machine, the guy looked at me with this digusted look. I pulled out the 1951-S Dime. Awesome! I proceeded to the bank, and on my way back home, I checked coinstar again. The guy left a huge mess! What a jerk. He left tens of torn up lottery tickets all over the machine and most in the tray! Who in the world does that?

I'm guessing a sore loser. Nice pick-up on the silver! I snagged a 1951 a few weeks back in some change.

I've never had luck with dimes in circulatation. I have found two silver quarter dollars though- a '63-D a few years ago that I saved from a vending machine, and a more recent '64-D.

Whenever someone is standing near the Coinstar and the rejects obviously aren't theirs, I tell them "excuse me, I'm just gonna grab this" although when that happened in August, I had to get 3 handfuls of coins out, so I offered some to the people waiting to dump, even though they said I could have it.

Out of the hundreds of times I've checked the coin star tray I've never found anything let alone silver. Jealous.
