This finally got me to get off my butt and take a couple of pictures of my 2004 Danish 2 Kroner. I was going to post to the "coins with holes" thread, so now I can kill two birds with one stone. Sorry about the image quality. Limping along with an iPhone 4s. The 6 is on its way!   |

One of my favorite coins is from 1914: 1914 Norway Constitution Centennial 2 Kroner  1964 Norway Constitution Sesquicentennial 10 Kroner  A few others, some "impaired" 1914 El Salvador 25 centavos  1944D Philippines 20 centavos  1954 Australia Royal Visit florin  1974 Iceland 1100 year anniversary 500 Kronur  1994 Isle of Man year of the dog crown  And $10 of Singapore, 1974  |

Thanks! ah , I've been hoping to get a 1914 2 kroner and 1964 10 kroner myself. and that Singapore $10 commemorative too! you'd think it'd be easy to get it cheap here, being home base, but no.... some collector who was selling numismatics from his provision shop asked $45 for it and it wasn't one bit as beautifully preserved as yours. Nice coins anyway! Although I'm surprised you didn't have this:    |

It depends. They made millions of them. Many have been cleaned or polished. A decent one - maybe double melt or double face value. Melt value to face value is only 1070/1000 now. Even so a not so decent one currently sells for 1.2x melt or more. And apparently some people that don't know any better will pay more for a polished one, advertised as proof or some nonsense.  |
