Hello all, I am still a relatively new hobby collector.
I have come across a coin lot on an online auction site.

I am wondering, I know it is hard to tell, but are these coins junk or could there be something there. I can't identify any but maybe you have better eyes than me.

It is about $10 the bidding. The seller says 2kg so even if it is rubbish it's not such a bad deal. But they look old.

It is a gamble but that makes it fun for me :)

Thanks

Can't tell anything from the pic. I suspect it a bunch of junk though.

In a word, Junk.
For $10 there is little risk. Even if they are not worth ten bucks the experience would be worth it. You would learn a lot going through them and I bet have quite a bit of fun.

there might be something interesting, and you will probably learn lots from researching them, and can post some on CCF if you are stumped on a few.

If you are interested in world coins then it's probably worth it.
Not for investment (unlikely to find a treasure in there, but not impossible) but for learning as the previous posters mentioned.
It's a mixture of world coins, mostly worn and some damaged - the three 'light' ones (2 bottom right, one in centre)are Japanese 1 Yen coins.

One big question though: how much is the shipping? For 2kg it might be far more than the coins themselves.

If the shipping is reasonable $10 is not too much money to have a little fun and learn something st the same time.

From the way those look, I'd be afraid to touch them.
