Info On My Counterfeit/Fake 1833 Bust Half Dollar

RK55 Pillar of the Community United States 2189 Posts	Posted 08/07/2014 4:27 pm I was reading a topic by harveypb a few days ago on his "bogus" 1833 bust half dollar. It rang a bell as I have had one for ages. I am curious,I don't know much about them. can the experts educate me on mine? Is it a cast copy? Die struck? contemporary counterfeit? It even has the edge lettering and a lame attempt at reeding between the letters. weight is 11.9 Grams."edit" it rings like silver and is non magnetic. thanks for any educational info! If you look at the coin with a good magnifying glass you will see the surface is a little porous. At least looking the pictures there are some areas that seem to have porosity.
