That's among the best cameras on a phone, and does excellent coin images. chequer Pillar of the Community Canada 4227 Posts	Posted 12/30/2014 8:08 pm There's going to be a learning curve with any camera and your iPhone is capable of very good images, if you want to learn. If you're looking for the easiest, a point and shoot with a decent macro may be the way to go - something like Canon SD780is, for example. Report this Post to the Staff

chequer Pillar of the Community Canada 4227 Posts	Posted 12/30/2014 9:39 pm I have the Canon P&S that I use for somewhat okay full coin shots and I use my iPhone 5c for closeups. Shamefully, I haven't been committed enough to get my DSLR set up for coin photography yet. The OP's iPhone is a great tool with little learning curve. Report this Post to the Staff

SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 12/31/2014 10:05 am Absolutely. We can't help fix it until we know what's wrong. Are you within the camera's minimum focusing distance? If you're too close to the coin, you'll never achieve focus. Report this Post to the Staff
