Sometimes I just can't get the info I am looking for. Or I don't understand what some of our more experienced Forumites are referring to. One web site I find really helpful is Edmonds optical and there technical resources. Although they are talking about small industrial & lab cameras they explain the basics well:

I've used Cambridge for a long time to answer questions that come up, but have never seen the Edmunds resource page. Looks excellent, and I plan to do some reading on a couple topics that are listed. Thanks AK!

Edmund was the BIG player in astronomy in the 1950 through 1970's I have always had a special spot in my heart for them. Lusting over their catalogs, while growing up, wanting all the cools science stuff I couldn't afford then.
