I was looking through my mint set collection and found a wonderful Mint mistake.

It is with my 2005 un-circulated Mint set from Denver. The Mint mistakenly placed a second Oregon State Quarter in lieu of the California State Quarter . I have had this set for years and never noticed this error prior to last week. I feel like I won the Lotto!

God only knows what other treasures are lurking in my collection, I just have to take the time to find them.

Because the sets can easily be opened and closed and be tampered with, not really a premium. Sorry!

SilverStacker, I believe he's talking about a mint set, not a proof set. Mint sets come in mylar envelopes which are not resealable once opened.

Yes, a mint set would have to be cut open.

Not sure what value this packaging error has, but this is certainly better than if it had been a proof set.

Mispackaged mint sets are interesting but usually command very little premium. They are a packaging error, not a mint error.
