As a kid (approx. 2007-09), relatives and family friends always knew of my hobby and gave me Whitman wheat head albums. They usually were missing the key dates, but I found five nice finds: 5. 1913-S 4. 1926-S 3. 1924-D 2. 1909-S (cleaned) 1. 1917 DDO Of these, I have sold numbers 5,4 and 1. Does anyone else have stories of great gifts from unsuspecting relatives? Report this Post to the Staff

just carl Bedrock of the Community United States 20753 Posts	Posted 05/18/2015 09:37 am Not sure if this counts as gifts but at coin shows I've gotten to know dealers fairly well. I always as if they have any Folders or Albums they don't want. One dealer that has a coin store has given me virtually many hundreds of Folders and Albums over the years. Possibly the vast majority of Albums I have all came from him. Even ones I don't need or want I give to schools or Goodwill stores. And I have a massive pile of those slides I've taken out of horribly bad Albums. All sort of gifts. Report this Post to the Staff
jbuck Moderator United States 192496 Posts	Posted 05/18/2015 11:25 am My wife's aunt usually sends me something coin related. A couple years back she sent me my birth year proof set (1969). Most know I cracked all of my proof sets to fill my Dansco albums. Well, the first proof set I ever bought was the 1969 set. It remained intact for almost 14 years before I cracked it. It was the only one for which I felt some regret. Now it has been replaced (this one I will not crack). When I was 8 (2008) my grandfather gave me a 1943-P War Nickel from his coin jar. I gave it a good examination and found it to be a 43/2.
