My Digital Dansco 7070 set is the "Pride and Joy" portion of my collection. I've been working on it for decades. 1) In this set of 84 coins, 68 of my coins are eligible to receive a CAC. 100% of these 68 coins eligible for a CAC have one! 2) Plus Grades - Coins graded 69 or 70 are ineligible to get a "+" grade. In this set of 84 coins, 15 are graded 69 or 70, and are therefore ineligible for a "+" grade. Of the remaining 69 coins potentially eligible for a "+", 44 of my coins in this set have a "+". Of those 44 with a "+", 5 of those are the ONLY ones in that grade with a "+". Not top pops, but a pop of only 1 for each of those five coins. (In the Registry for this set, the PCGS pops shown (and pops higher shown) apparently are for ALL dates eligible for that SLOT for that grade. For example, my 1838 Capped Bust quarter graded MS64+ has a PCGS pop of only 1, with only 6 finer. However, the Registry is showing a pop of 17 for that SLOT, with 101 graded higher for that SLOT!) 3) This set contains one Flying Eagle cent and three Indian Head cents. Not only do each of those four coins have a CAC sticker, but all four also have the "Eagle Eye Photo Seal" from Rick Snow. https://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/ty...meset/213996Steve

GrapeCollects - Thanks for your kind words. I've found that coin collectors at every level not only are nice people, but are each knowledgeable in so many ways. I believe the collectors on each forum run the gamut from just filling Whitman folders from pocket change to the true "Big Boys" that I can't even approach in rarity. Yet all will contribute and help in a positive way with ideas, thoughts, and information.
Thanks again for the welcome.

Thanks to you too for your kind words. I see your avatar is an Ike, so I guess that's one of your high interests. Beautiful coins, and a great man! Up until 2001 I lived not far from West Point, and in their museum, I recall they have a LOT of interesting exhibits about Eisenhower.
Separately, as a new member to this forum, I still can't figure out how to "Quote" a portion of another member's post in my reply. Guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks. Steve

How to Quote Thanks. I think I figured that out. However, you raised a new functionality issue for me - where is the "Quick Reply" box?

Steve,
Watch out for jBuck, he will "bully" you into doing a set you don't want to do. He "bullied" me into doing the 7070.

Quote: Watch out for jBuck, he will "bully" you into doing a set you don't want to do Ha! My problem is, he'll probably succeed!! As I neared completion of my Dansco 7070 set, I then started five sets so that I can continue "The Hunt": 1. Classic Silver Commem 50 Coin Type Set (now completed). Since these coins are out of favor, the prices available in the grades I wanted are very attractive compared to 10+ years ago, but have remained pretty steady for the past few years. CAC premiums tend to be small on these unpopular coins as well. 2. A Two Cent Set (Circulated coins, not Proof - now completed). Also not too popular, which keeps prices somewhat reasonable. Only 10 coins are needed in total for that set, 3. A Lincoln Wheat DATE Set - Since it's a DATE set, I can then keep the cost in control by choosing a less expensive coin for each of the 50 slots by avoiding the tougher branch mints, or Philly mint when that is tougher. That allows me to ensure that each coin will be RED and with a CAC. That's a trade off I'm comfortable with - fewer coins, but then allowing those fewer coins that are in the set to all meet my "needs". 4. A Franklin Proof Set - Only 14 coins in total are needed for that set. 5. A Standing Lib Quarter Full Head DATE Set. Only 14 coins in total are needed for this set. Like with my Lincoln Wheat Date Set above, this allows "completion" at a lower cost than a set with all mint marks for each date. For those interested in putting together a set like this but at lower cost, they can choose instead a 14 coin DATE set that allows (but does not require) FULL Heads.
