Hello everyone! I have a 1921 Wheat penny. I know 1921 isn't worth much but this one is unique. It's inflated! I couldn't find anything online about it and was wondering if anyone has seen this type of thing before? Any info would be great! Thanks!!

I wonder what date the one on the reverse is. You could probably weigh it to see if it is 1 or 2 wheat cents that have been made to look like that.

Hmm, yeah I should weigh it. Do you think it could be two pennies stuck together?

Hmm, nah I didn't want to do anything that would destroy its value. I suppose anyone could take a penny and somehow make it bulged, but my great grandma had saved this and gave it to me years ago.

I was only kidding about letting the air out. That is twice this week I have tried to be funny and it didn't work out. I guess I wasn't meant to be a comedian.

If you check out the links I posted, it shows some similar cents that were used to make jewelry.

Lol oh okay. I thought maybe you were, but who knows these days lol. Yeah I saw those. I wonder if someone bent them themselves. Either way, I'm definitely starting to think these are two coins.

I'm pretty sure it is Two Cents stuck together.
It sounds like it has been in your family a long time. I would hold onto it just because of that.

Someplace I saw (maybe youtube) them doing this for decoration and fun. They use a block with spherical indentations in it, lay the coin on top, and use a hammer to hit a rounded end to force the coin using into the half sphere. They then solder the two coins back to back to make a "ball."

Note the orientation of the REV and OBV are so that both are the same direction = 2 coins back to back.
