Hey all, first post. Checked around online a bit & couldn't find much, figured I'd ask the enthusiasts what they thought. :)

not sure if uploader is lying to me but this forum also rejects images hosted from anywhere free

*** Staff Edit No it does not reject images from anywhere free, but it does reject from that site because it's NASTY. DO NOT attempt to bypass the filter again. ***

Looks plated or covered with mercury. As a kid, we use to break thermometers and smear pennies with the mercury to make them silver. And we didn't grow a third eye or have our teeth fall out.

I agree that it is plated. A lot of pennies from the 1950's-1960's were plated and used in jewelery.
It does look like you may have a clip at 12:00 O'clock.

On second thought, that may be a dent where it was mounted in a holder or some kind of jewelery.

Welcome to CC!

Your coin has been plated, it's what well call PMD (Post Mint Damage).
