garys64wildcat Pillar of the Community United States 593 Posts	Posted 07/21/2015 1:55 pm Just some help on 2 rolls of silver Kennedy .50 rolls one 64 and 1 65-70 roll 40% and 1 roll of pre 64 silver quarters. Mostly 1956-64 dates, best date is a 50S AU+ with luster. What would an average dealer pay for all 3 rolls for common dates if I sold for silver value? With silver coming down lately and not knowing how far it will go. I don't want pay to much if I had to sell to a LCS for melt. Thanks for the Help Report this Post to the Staff

The local coin store in town sells 40% for $2.50 retail so I am thinking no more than $2 at most for a 40% unless it was a 1970 Kennedy which aren't common at all relatively. The coin today melts for $2.19 per 40% Kennedy half dollar. Report this Post to the Staff
CLS12 Pillar of the Community United States 509 Posts	Posted 07/21/2015 3:11 pm LCS here said 10x1 on 90 and 2x1 on 40. I didn't ask about War Nickels. That was over a month ago. I was thinking of trading in some 40% halves and 90% 1964 (CRH accumulation) for 90% dimes, but didn't think that was a good deal. Only reason I asked was bc they told me before that halves are in most demand. Report this Post to the Staff

The 1950S is a nice au+ quarter, not a low mintage key but nice coin. Also some 1940 to 49 p, s and d mints worn vg or better no culls. Unless there was a lucky 70d half. Most 64-70 Kennedys were decent condition. Before he passed he sold me 25 to 30 rolls of LWC`s from 20`s to 57 at around a buck a roll and several LMC 1959 to 82 copper most lustered nice also. his kids took the older stuff and left the common stuff. I have no idea what a quart jar of unc Wa St My good friend passed away in June and his widow don't know coins and I want to offer what a fair price of what she could sell for. CLS12 Pillar of the Community United States 509 Posts	Posted 07/21/2015 8:27 pm A dealer would likely offer $220-230 to buy and sell for closer to $350... So a fair offer to a friend would be somewhere between those #'s. they could likely get close to $350 selling on ebay - 10% and shipping.. So $300 mark is probably what you'd be able to get just throwing it up there after fees. Report this Post to the Staff

If a LCS wanted to buy them you'd probably get bullion price, or very slightly above. Gotta remember, he's not going to be able to flip those at much of a profit as long as silver stays down, unless they have numismatic value or key/semi-key dates in the mix.
