1. Take 2 quarters and a nickel, and make a sandwich with the nickel in the middle. 2. Hold the sandwich between two fingers (index and thumb) 12 inches directly above the palm of your other hand. 3. Let the bottom quarter fall from between your index finger and thumb, the nickel falling with it.
The bottom quarter will land on top of the nickel in your palm 100% of the time, having undergone an exact 180 degree flip during the fall. This is incredibly consistent and you might win a bet or two if you feel so inclined.
Try it!

Where does the other quarter end up? Stuck to my finger? floating?............ I don't know, can't figure it out.

I believe the OP intends for you to hold the sandwich edge-wise on the quarters, not pinch it from both "ends" of the sandwich. Should be easy enough to let the bottom quarter slip out but don't have 2 quarters and a nickel in my hotel room with which to test right now.
Yes, yes, I know. And I *dare* call myself a numismatist!

when they actually landed flat it DID work every time. Now I feel stupid that I was holding the coins by the face, any coin collector knows that is a big no-no.

Yes, sorry for the confusion CelticKnot is right the sandwich is to be held by the edges, as I'm sure we are all accustomed.
I don't think it would work with flips/slabs, thanks for the laugh!

My favorite trick is a bar bet con... it involves 2 glass pints of beer and a coin... Tell the mark I bet you $100 that I can drink both beers before you can pickup the coin from the table. Only stipulation is you cant touch my beer and that I have to finish my 1st beer first and after I put the glass down you can go for the coin... If you get the coin before I finish my last beer and put the 2nd empty glass down I'll give you $100 if not you give me $100... ANY half buzzed pool hall patron will agree to the terms... GAME ON!... You finish your first beer and put it upside down over the coin then enjoy your second beer while the other guys is dumbfounded as ypu collet the $200 that's on the table

Quote: Fun party trick Post the video next time. Quote: My favorite trick is a bar bet con... it involves 2 glass pints of beer and a coin.. I used to something similar in my drinking days. I would put my three or four beers versus their three or four shots. Loser buys the drinks and pays twenty to the winner. I would put my first empty beer over their last shot glass and then enjoy my other beers.

How did I know YOU would be the one to know where that came from jbuck. Seriously, as I was writing it I purposefully did not source it to see who would know and thought specifically that YOU would.... I haven't seen it in a decade so my recollection was a,touch off but here it is (warning, explicit language) Fast forward to 6 mins into it *** Sorry, cannot have that link here ****
